The Dryerbox 425 is designed primarily for upward-venting dryer exhaust installations in 2x6 walls. Its recessed design allows the dryer connection to terminate inside the wall cavity, helping reduce crushed transition duct and allowing the dryer to sit closer to the wall.

Installation Notes

The Dryerbox 425 is designed primarily for upward exhaust in 2x6 wall construction. For standard floor-standing dryers, install the box as low as practical. The 425 can also be installed in a 2x4 wall when the wall is furred out approximately ¾"; however, the shallower Dryerbox 350 is generally the better choice for standard 2x4 construction.

Fire-Rated Wall Applications

Dryerbox Models 425, 350, 4D and 3D are UL Classified for use as part of Through-Penetration Firestop System W-L-7129. A one-hour F & T rating requires a qualifying minimum 2x6 wall assembly and installation in accordance with the UL system requirements, including specified gypsum board, insulation and installation details. Always verify the complete rated-wall assembly and project requirements before installation.
